We need a hands-on drywall superintendent to run commercial interiors in Austin, TX. You’ll lead crews installing ceiling grid, metal stud framing, partition top-outs and drywall hanging on mid- to large-scale commercial jobs. This is a site-focused role—be on site, lead the crew, and get work built right. You’ll manage daily layout, sequencing, quality control and coordination with other trades. Expect to enforce safety, keep production on schedule, handle material checks, and mentor carpenters and hangers. Strong practical skills and 4+ years of commercial construction experience are required.

What you'll do

  • Direct day-to-day field operations for drywall and interior framing crews on commercial sites
  • Set layout, install ceiling grid and acoustical ceilings, top out drywall hanging and finish sequencing
  • Install steel framing for interior partitions and exterior nonbearing walls; verify alignment and plumb
  • Ensure drywall fastening, hanging, and general framing carpentry meet plan and code requirements
  • Coordinate materials, subcontractors and schedule; perform quality checks and correct deficiencies

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years commercial construction experience with drywall and metal stud framing
  • Proven ability to work on stilts and supervise crews using stilts safely
  • Experience with acoustical ceiling installation and ceiling grid systems
  • Skilled in general framing carpentry, drywall hanging and proper drywall fastening techniques
  • Able to read plans, lay out partitions, and enforce on-site safety and quality standards

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred) or similar site safety training
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Austin-area sites
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Journeyman-level experience in drywall/metal stud work; Spanish-speaking crew leaders encouraged to apply
  • Comfortable working at heights and on stilts

What we offer

  • Consistent commercial projects in the Austin area with steady schedules
  • Health, dental and vision benefits available
  • Paid time off and holiday policy
  • Tool allowance or tool program and site-provided PPE
  • Opportunities for advancement and supervisory training
