Construction Superintendent (Design-Build)

About This Role

We need a hands-on Construction Superintendent in Raleigh, NC to run day-to-day field operations on design-build projects. You’ll lead crews and subcontractors, coordinate closely with the design team, and keep projects on schedule, on budget, and built to spec. This role suits a superintendent who reads drawings confidently, enforces safety and quality in the field, communicates clearly with owners and architects, and keeps tight control of schedule, costs, and documentation on civil and building projects.

What You'll Do

• • Lead day-to-day site operations: supervise crews, subcontractors, and on-site vendors.
• • Coordinate with design team and trade partners to resolve RFI’s, change orders, and coordination issues in a design-build environment.
• • Manage schedule, inspect work for quality, and enforce safety procedures daily to meet milestones and specifications.
• • Coordinate permits, inspections, and maintain project documentation (daily reports, RFIs, submittals, photo logs).
• • Track job cost and schedule performance; work with project management to control budget, change orders, and billing.
• • Maintain client and architect communication on progress, punch lists, and closeout to ensure timely project handover.

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience on design-build projects or equivalent work with integrated design/trade coordination.
• • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings, civil plans, blueprints, and construction documents.
• • Proven construction project management: schedule control, cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
• • Strong verbal and written communication with owners, architects, and subcontractors; solid client relationship management.
• • Working knowledge of building codes, permit processes, inspections, and OSHA safety standards; enforce safety on site.
• • Proficient with construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam or similar) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or degree in construction preferred.
• • OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred) and proven safety leadership on job sites.
• • Valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation; clean driving record.
• • 5+ years supervising commercial, civil, or residential construction with design-build delivery.
• • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid or similar construction software; ability to produce daily reports and job cost analysis.
• • Able to pass background check and drug screen; English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
