Superintendent (Industrial Estimator)

Ennis, TX

About This Role

Looking for a hands-on Superintendent who also handles industrial estimating for heavy projects in and around Ennis, TX. You’ll split time between the field and the office—reviewing specs on-site, developing accurate cost estimates, and working with project managers and engineers to lock in budgets and schedules. This role is practical and results-driven: clear estimates, tight budgets, and reliable schedules. If you have strong industrial construction experience, can read plans and specs, and are comfortable pricing labor and materials, this job gives you real responsibility for project budgeting and planning. Competitive pay based on experience and steady industrial work in the region.

What You'll Do

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and scopes to develop complete cost estimates
  • Calculate material quantities, labor hours, equipment needs, and subcontractor costs
  • Prepare and deliver detailed estimate packages and bid summaries
  • Work with project managers and engineers to refine budgets and align scope with client requirements
  • Visit job sites to verify conditions, document changes, and update estimates as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in industrial construction estimating or as a project superintendent with estimating duties
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and RFP documents
  • Practical knowledge of material takeoffs, labor costing, and crew productivity rates
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with PMs, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Comfortable working in the field on active industrial sites and in the office preparing estimates

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or construction management certificate is a plus
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Proven experience with estimating methods and common estimating software or spreadsheets
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • English required; Spanish language skills a plus

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Overtime opportunities on field work
  • Health insurance (medical/dental/vision) options
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Tools allowance, travel pay, or mileage reimbursement for site visits
