Superintendent — Masonry & Concrete
About This Role
Hands-on Superintendent needed in Atlanta, GA to run masonry and concrete projects from footing to finish. You’ll lead crews on commercial and heavy civil sites, coordinate concrete pours and formwork, manage trenching/excavation tasks, and ensure quality brick, stone, and concrete work day-to-day. This is a field-first role: you’ll be in charge of scheduling crews, inspecting work, enforcing safety (OSHA), ordering materials, and troubleshooting issues on site. We want a practical leader who can read plans, set layouts, and jump in with hands-on trades when needed. Competitive pay DOE and steady local projects.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and schedule masonry, stone, and concrete crews; assign daily tasks and monitor productivity.
- • Oversee concrete placement, formwork carpentry, finishing, curing and protection during pours; coordinate ready-mix deliveries and pour sequences.
- • Inspect and direct bricklaying, stone masonry, elevated masonry, and general carpentry for quality and code compliance.
- • Manage excavation, trench stabilization, bedding, and dewatering operations; supervise rigging and forklift operations on site.
- • Enforce site safety (OSHA), conduct toolbox talks, coordinate subcontractors, track materials, and report progress to project management.
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 5 years supervising masonry and concrete crews on commercial or heavy-civil projects.
- • Proven hands‑on skill with bricklaying, stone masonry, elevated masonry, and general masonry tasks.
- • Strong experience with concrete placement/pouring, formwork carpentry, finishing, curing, and concrete reinforcing.
- • Knowledge of excavation/trench work including trench stabilization, bedding, dewatering, and shoring basics.
- • Ability to operate or supervise forklift, rigging, and oxyfuel cutting operations; comfortable directing general laborer foremen.
- • Solid blueprint reading, layout skills, crew leadership, scheduling, and strict adherence to safety procedures (OSHA).
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- • Forklift operator certification and rigging training preferred; oxyfuel cutting certification a plus.
- • NCCER certification or equivalent trade credential a plus.
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to pass drug/background checks.
- • First Aid/CPR preferred; strong English communication skills required (Spanish a plus).
- • 5+ years documented supervisory experience on masonry/concrete projects with references.
