Traveling Concrete Superintendent

About This Role

We're hiring a Traveling Concrete Superintendent based in Albany, NY to lead full lifecycle construction of large pre-stressed concrete liquid storage tanks across the U.S. You’ll run jobs from layout and concrete placement through testing, QA, and closeout — directing crews, subcontractors, and site operations day-to-day. This is a hands-on, travel-heavy role. You’ll enforce safety, manage schedules and resources with Spectrum ERP and Field View, mentor field staff, and keep strong relationships with clients, engineers, and inspectors. Pay is $90,000–$150,000/yr plus per diem; relocation considered for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

  • Direct all on-site activities: supervise field crews and subcontractors for safety, quality, and productivity
  • Interpret contract drawings and lead concrete placement, formwork setup, testing, curing, and related operations
  • Run daily safety inspections, enforce the safety program, and complete incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Manage schedules, resources, and site documentation using Spectrum ERP and Field View; keep daily logs and reports current
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, inspectors, and vendors; handle punch lists and quality closeout
  • Train and mentor assistant superintendents and crew leads; drive continuous field performance improvements

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years proven field leadership on large concrete projects (pre-stressed liquid storage or heavy civil preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with formwork systems, line & grade, concrete placement, testing, and curing procedures
  • Strong safety background with experience enforcing OSHA and site-specific safety programs
  • Comfortable using construction tech (iPad/laptop), scheduling software, Spectrum ERP, and Field View
  • Willingness to travel extensively and manage remote project sites nationwide
  • Clear communicator with solid time management and conflict-resolution skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related field OR 6+ years equivalent field leadership experience
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred)
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
  • NCCCO or equivalent crane/rigging certificate preferred
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean driving record and willingness to travel overnight
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen; English required
