Full Time
Construction Superintendent — Steel Erection & Foundations
About This Role
Hands-on Construction Superintendent needed to run steel erection, foundations and building envelope work for industrial, commercial, warehouse, manufacturing and agricultural PEMB projects across the U.S. You’ll lead self-performing field crews on both union and nonunion jobs, travel to job sites, and be the on-site point person for quality, schedule and safety. You’ll use lean construction principles and the Last Planner System to plan, sequence and drive work. This is a field-focused role — you’ll be on site directing crews, coordinating inspections and permits, working with subs and vendors, and keeping projects on time and within budget.
What You'll Do
- • Direct and supervise steel erection crews, foundation work and building envelope installation on PEMB and industrial/commercial sites
- • Plan daily/weekly work using Last Planner or other lean construction methods; coordinate crews, equipment and material delivery
- • Manage both union and nonunion self-performing crews: assign tasks, enforce safety and quality standards, track productivity
- • Coordinate inspections, permits, site layout, testing, and interface with clients, inspectors and subcontractors
- • Monitor job cost, change orders, timecards and basic field billing; report schedule and budget status to project management
- • Enforce OSHA and site safety protocols; investigate issues, manage claims when needed and maintain project documentation
What We're Looking For
- • Proven experience supervising steel erection, foundations and building envelope systems on PEMB, industrial, commercial or warehouse projects
- • Experience managing self-performing crews on both union and nonunion sites; strong leadership and crew-management skills
- • Proficient reading and interpreting civil, structural and technical drawings and blueprints
- • Familiar with lean construction or the Last Planner System for planning and scheduling
- • Strong communication skills — able to coordinate with clients, subs, inspectors and office teams; basic claims and conflict resolution experience
- • Willingness and ability to travel to projects nationwide as required
Qualifications
- • NCCER certification (required)
- • OSHA 30-hour card (required)
- • CCM or equivalent construction management credential (preferred)
- • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to pass drug screen and background check
- • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and common construction management software
- • English required; Spanish or other language skills helpful
What We Offer
- • Competitive pay based on experience
- • Per diem and travel reimbursement when on the road
- • Health, dental and vision insurance options
- • 401(k) or retirement plan options
- • Paid time off and holiday pay
- • Training and certification reimbursement (NCCER, specialized safety courses) and tool/training stipend
