Civil Surveyor

About this role

Join a field crew building a large-scale data center in Pampa, TX as a Civil Surveyor. This per diem position focuses on construction staking, layout verification, topographic surveys, and accurate field measurements through all construction phases. You will work outdoors using GPS, total station, and related surveying gear, maintain clear survey records, and coordinate directly with engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors. Travel to site and bilingual communication (English/Spanish) are required.

What you'll do

• • Perform construction staking, layout verification, and grade checks for foundations, pads, utilities, and site work
• • Conduct topographic, as-built, and control surveys using GPS and total station equipment
• • Record and maintain accurate field notes, survey logs, and measurement data; prepare simple deliverables and handoffs
• • Verify elevations and site grades; communicate discrepancies and coordinate corrections with engineers and superintendents
• • Set up, calibrate, and operate surveying instruments; perform basic field troubleshooting and equipment care
• • Follow site safety plans, maintain clear communication with subcontractors, and support daily crew needs

What we're looking for

• • 1–3 years of civil or construction surveying experience in the field
• • Hands-on experience using GPS and total station equipment (setup, data collection, basic adjustments)
• • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, site plans, and technical layouts
• • Bilingual in Spanish and English (required) for on-site communication
• • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and travel to the project site as required

Qualifications

• • Bilingual: Spanish and English (required)
• • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Pampa, TX
• • Survey technician certificate, associate degree in surveying/civil technology, or equivalent field experience (preferred)
• • Willingness to complete site safety training and background or onboarding checks as required
