Civil Surveyor — Pampa, TX (Data Center)
About This Role
Join a field-focused survey crew building a large data center in Pampa, TX. This role is hands-on: you’ll run GPS and total station equipment, perform construction staking and topographic surveys, and keep accurate records through every phase of construction. You’ll work closely with engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors to verify grades and layout, solve field issues, and maintain safety while working outdoors. This position requires attention to detail, reliable field skills, and the ability to travel to site locations as needed.
What You'll Do
- • Perform construction staking, layout verification, and setting control points for foundations, utilities, and sitework
- • Run topographic and as-built surveys using GPS, total station, and other field equipment
- • Record, check, and maintain accurate survey notes, sketches, and digital files
- • Verify site elevations, grades, and offsets against plans and report discrepancies
- • Coordinate daily with project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors to support layout and problem resolution
- • Follow project specifications, surveying best practices, and site safety procedures while working outdoors
What We're Looking For
- • 1–3 years of civil or construction surveying experience on large site projects
- • Proficient with GPS and total station setup, data collection, and basic field calibration
- • Able to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and stakeout sheets
- • Strong attention to detail, good math skills, and practical problem-solving in the field
- • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and lifting/handling survey gear
- • Willingness to travel to the Pampa site and work variable hours, including overtime as needed
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED required; vocational certificate or associate degree in surveying preferred
- • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- • OSHA 10-hour or similar safety training preferred
- • Proficiency in GPS/total station data collection software (Trimble, Leica, etc.)
- • Ability to communicate in English; Spanish language skills a plus
