About This Role

Surveyor needed in or near Rayville, LA. This is hands-on field work using GPS, total station and drone equipment to run boundary, topographic and construction layout surveys. Pay up to $40/hr depending on experience. You’ll spend most of your time on local job sites: setting control points, staking layouts, capturing aerial data with drones, and turning field notes into accurate survey deliverables. This role suits someone who’s comfortable working outside, reading civil drawings, and solving on-site layout problems quickly and safely.

What You'll Do

• • Run boundary, topographic and construction layout surveys using GPS, total station and drone equipment.
• • Read and interpret civil drawings, technical blueprints and site plans to set control and layout points.
• • Perform on-site measurements, stakeout, mark property lines and construction points with precision.
• • Operate drones for aerial data capture and process/verify survey-grade data.
• • Record, check and deliver accurate field notes and data; maintain and calibrate field equipment.
• • Coordinate with contractors and crews on-site to resolve layout and grading issues.

What We're Looking For

• • Field experience in land, property or construction surveying and strong math/analytical skills.
• • Proficient in drawing and blueprint interpretation (civil and technical drawings).
• • Hands-on experience with GPS, total stations, drones and site layout tools.
• • Ability to perform precise measuring, cutting and layout tasks; comfortable with physical outdoor work.
• • Reliable, punctual, good communicator and able to work with construction crews on-site.
• • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local Rayville-area sites.

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or equivalent.
• • Surveying degree, certificate or technical training preferred.
• • FAA Part 107 drone certification preferred or proven drone survey experience.
• • Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD or common survey software preferred.
• • OSHA 10 or similar safety training preferred.
• • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
