Surveyor Foreman / Party Chief

About This Role

Journeyman-level Surveyor Foreman / Party Chief needed in Vicksburg, MS to lead survey crews on an industrial/power project. You’ll run layout and quality checks, supervise and train the crew, and make sure work follows project drawings and safety rules. This is a 6-month assignment (potential to extend) working Monday–Friday on 5x10s, day shift. Pay is $34/hr plus $100/day per diem if you live 50+ miles from site. Total Station experience and industrial surveying background are required.

What You'll Do

• • Direct and supervise survey crews: plan daily work, assign tasks, and provide on-the-job training
• • Perform and oversee layout and quality checks using Total Station and as-built drawings
• • Conduct toolbox talks, enforce safety practices, and communicate scope and schedules to crews
• • Coordinate tools, materials and equipment with warehouse and purchasing to keep crews running
• • Review and approve crew timecards for correct hours and phase coding
• • Monitor and report daily/weekly quantities and complete performance reviews for craft workers

What We're Looking For

• • 5+ years surveying experience preferred with lead/foreman roles on industrial projects
• • Industrial surveying experience required; Total Station operation required
• • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, blueprints and project specifications
• • Proven ability to lead crews, teach safe work practices, and run toolbox meetings
• • Able to work outdoors in construction settings, climb ladders/scaffolds and lift up to 50 lbs
• • Willingness to work overtime, weekends or holidays as needed and pass drug/background checks

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED
• • 5+ years surveying experience preferred; prior Party Chief/Foreman experience ideal
• • Demonstrated Total Station experience (field use required)
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to site
• • Able to pass drug/alcohol testing, fit-for-duty screening and background check
