Surveyor Foreman — Nationwide
About This Role
Lead and supervise survey and craft crews on construction and industrial sites across the country. This hands-on foreman role pays up to $34/hr and puts you in charge of layout accuracy, safety compliance, material coordination, and crew performance. You will plan daily tasks, train and motivate crew members, run toolbox talks, check quality against drawings, report progress and quantities, and complete performance reviews. Work is outdoors and in challenging site conditions — expect travel, irregular hours, and pre-access testing.
What You'll Do
- • Lead and supervise survey and craft workers; perform hands-on layout and quality checks per drawings and specs
- • Plan daily tasks and schedules; coordinate tools, materials and equipment with warehouse and supervisors
- • Conduct toolbox meetings, enforce safety practices, and communicate scope and hazards to crews
- • Monitor job progress, record quantities, and report daily/weekly production and manpower
- • Review and verify crew timecards, phase coding, and complete performance reviews
What We're Looking For
- • Proven lead-level experience in surveying or construction layout (field foreman/party chief experience)
- • Able to perform core craft tasks and provide on-the-job training to crew members
- • Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather, at heights, and in confined/uneven spaces
- • Able to pass pre-access drug/alcohol testing and fit-for-duty medical screening
- • Must have basic hand tools, reliable transportation, and be available for overtime, weekends and travel
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent; formal trade/survey training preferred
- • 5+ years combined survey/construction field experience; prior foreman or party chief experience strongly preferred
- • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred); First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- • Proficient with total stations, GPS, levels and layout instruments
- • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to travel and work multiple sites
- • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform physical site work
