Surveyor

About This Role

Join a field crew in Atlanta, LA as a Surveyor working on construction sites. You’ll run Trimble GPS and related gear to take measurements, verify structure locations, and guide layout so crews can build to plan. This is a per diem role paying up to $45/hr. You’ll work closely with foremen, engineers, and tradespeople, performing site surveys, mapping, and as-built checks from start to finish. The job is hands-on: move gear, record notes, read plans, and keep equipment clean and calibrated.

What You'll Do

• • Set up and operate Trimble GPS base stations, SCS 900, GCS 900 and laser levels for site control and layout
• • Perform survey computations, field note taking, plan/blueprint reading and as-built data collection
• • Verify existing site conditions and structure locations; perform stakeout and layout for new construction
• • Support drone/aerial data tasks and import/export survey data to Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D when needed
• • Maintain, clean, and secure surveying tools and equipment; ensure batteries, targets, and accessories are ready
• • Communicate clearly with crew leads, subcontractors, and office staff to resolve field questions and pass on accurate measurements

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 1 year construction or field surveying experience
• • Proven experience operating Trimble GPS systems, SCS 900, GCS 900 and laser levels
• • Able to read technical drawings, blueprints, and perform survey computations in the field
• • Strong verbal and written communication; able to coordinate with diverse crews and document findings
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites
• • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varied conditions, and perform repetitive hand/arm movements

Qualifications

• • CTS Level 1 or equivalent preferred
• • Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, and drone/as-built workflows
• • Certification or training in land/property/aerial surveying or related coursework a plus
• • Fluent English for on-site communication and report writing
• • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
