Full Time
Surveyor
About This Role
Work as a Surveyor on civil construction and infrastructure projects across the U.S. You’ll perform field measurements, set layout, and confirm locations and elevations so crews can build to plan. This is hands-on work outdoors — reading plans, operating survey instruments, and communicating results to foremen and crews. Nationwide assignments with regular travel and project rotations. Pay is hourly and based on experience; overtime and per diem/pay for overnight travel are available. We’re looking for practical, safety-conscious people who can read civil drawings, run total stations/GPS, and keep accurate records on site.
What You'll Do
- • Perform field measurements and establish site layout for roads, utilities, grading, and structures
- • Operate total stations, GPS equipment, optical levels and other survey tools; set control points
- • Read and follow civil drawings, plans and staking sheets to lay out construction elements
- • Verify locations, elevations and dimensions on site and report discrepancies to supervisors
- • Provide clear, timely survey data and stakes to construction crews to keep work moving
- • Maintain field notes, as-built records, and basic CAD or data files for project handoff
What We're Looking For
- • Hands-on experience in land surveying on civil construction sites
- • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and staking sheets
- • Familiar with construction practices so layout matches field conditions
- • Skilled with total stations, RTK/GPS units, levels and data collectors
- • Physically able to work outdoors, lift equipment, and travel to job sites
Qualifications
- • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel overnight
- • LSIT, survey technician certificate, or equivalent field experience preferred
- • Familiarity with Trimble, Topcon, Leica or similar survey systems and data software
- • OSHA 10 (or higher) and First Aid/CPR preferred or able to obtain
- • Basic CAD or field-to-finish data handling experience (AutoCAD, Civil software)
What We Offer
- • Hourly pay based on experience with overtime paid at legal rates
- • Per diem or overnight travel pay for out-of-town assignments
- • Mileage reimbursement or company vehicle for travel between sites
- • Paid safety gear (PPE) and on-the-job training for equipment and software
- • Steady project work nationwide with clear schedules and project rotations
