About This Role

Experienced CDL B Dump Truck Driver needed in Fredericksburg, VA for per diem heavy civil projects. You’ll haul dirt, stone, asphalt, and milling debris to support site work, grading, mass excavation, mainline pipe, processed water, milling, and paving operations. This is hands-on work—be prepared to load/unload, perform daily inspections, and keep accurate delivery logs. We need drivers with a strong safety record and at least two years of dump truck experience who can follow haul routes, DOT rules, and on-site directions. If you’re reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in varying weather and jobsite conditions, this role offers steady project work and opportunities for overtime.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate CDL B dump trucks to haul dirt, stone, asphalt, milling debris, and other materials between job sites.
• Support grading, excavation, mainline pipe, processed water, milling, and paving crews by hauling and dumping materials as directed.
• Load and unload materials, check weight distribution, and ensure legal load limits and securement.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects and complete basic maintenance checks (fluids, lights, tires, hydraulics).
• Follow assigned haul routes, traffic laws, company safety policies, and DOT regulations; follow site-specific safety rules and flagging instructions.
• Maintain accurate delivery, load, and mileage logs; communicate status with dispatch, supervisors, and project teams.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of safe dump truck driving experience in heavy civil construction or similar hauling operations.
• Valid CDL B license with a clean driving record; CDL A is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, load limits, and truck safety procedures.
• Ability to load/unload materials, secure loads, and handle manual and automatic transmissions as needed.
• Physically able to work in demanding outdoor conditions and adapt to changing weather and jobsite demands.
• Clear communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, equipment operators, and crews; able to complete required paperwork and logs.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL B (required); CDL A considered a plus.
• Current DOT medical card (CDL physical) and ability to pass DOT drug & alcohol screening.
• Minimum 2 years’ verifiable dump truck hauling experience in construction sectors (grading, excavation, paving, milling).
• Clean driving record with no recent major violations.
• Basic English proficiency for safe communication on site; flagging/traffic control certification a plus.
