CDL Class A Landoll Driver (Night)

About This Role

Join a night-shift CDL Class A driving crew in Newport News, VA, hauling heavy equipment and materials with Landoll/lowboy trailers. This role is hands-on: load, secure, transport and unload large machinery safely and on schedule. You’ll run primarily night shifts, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, keep accurate logs, and follow DOT and company safety standards. Ideal for experienced heavy-haul drivers who know lowboys, manual transmissions, and heavy equipment handling.

What You'll Do

• • Operate Landoll and lowboy trailers to transport heavy equipment and materials on night runs
• • Load, secure, tarping and unload equipment safely using proper blocking and cribbing techniques
• • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects and complete maintenance logs
• • Follow DOT hours-of-service rules, maintain accurate logbooks/electronic logs and delivery paperwork
• • Adhere to company safety policies and federal, state and local regulations during all operations
• • Communicate with dispatch on schedules, delays, route changes and delivery confirmations

What We're Looking For

• • Valid CDL Class A license required
• • Proven experience operating Landoll/lowboy and flatbed equipment for heavy-haul loads
• • Comfortable with manual and automatic transmissions and heavy equipment loading/unloading
• • Knowledge of DOT regulations, securement standards and hours-of-service compliance
• • Ability to perform routine heavy equipment maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting
• • Capable of hauling hazardous materials when required (HAZMAT endorsement or willingness to obtain preferred)

Qualifications

• • CDL Class A (required)
• • Current DOT medical card (must pass DOT physical and drug screen)
• • Clean driving record and ability to pass background/MVR check
• • HAZMAT, tanker or doubles/triples endorsements preferred
• • Forklift experience or certification a plus
• • Ability to read and complete required paperwork in English
