Welder/Fabricator

About this role

Join a busy fabrication shop in Lakeland, FL as a Welder/Fabricator. You will build metal parts and structures from detailed drawings, set up and operate welding and cutting equipment, and assemble components to print. Experience with structural steel and amusement ride construction is a plus. This is a hands-on, full-time shop role that requires good hand-eye coordination, the ability to read drawings and tape measures, and the physical ability to handle heavy materials and tools. Candidates must be able to pass a weld test and follow site safety procedures.

What you'll do

• • Read and interpret detailed drawings and specifications to determine material and tooling needs
• • Cut, roll, shape, bend, heat, and form metal to fabricate parts and sub-assemblies
• • Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG/TIG/SMAW) and other hand and machine tools
• • Assemble parts and structures by welding, bolting, and fitting to print
• • Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment; report defects and needed repairs
• • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow site safety procedures; may learn CNC operation

What we're looking for

• • Proven welding and fabrication experience, preferably with structural steel or amusement-ride components
• • Must be physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working in a shop environment
• • Strong ability to read drawings and accurately use a tape measure
• • Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation; must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• • Must pass a weld test and any required site-specific equipment training

Qualifications

• • 3G and 4G welding certifications (required or equivalent experience)
• • Ability to pass a practical weld test
• • Experience with MIG, TIG, and SMAW processes preferred
• • Comfortable reading blueprints and shop drawings
• • Must complete site-specific safety and equipment training before operating machines
