Welder - Intermediate Structural

About This Role

Intermediate structural welder needed for construction and industrial projects in Greenville, MS. This hands-on role focuses on welding, installing and repairing structural steel in field conditions using multiple processes. Expect steady, project-based work where quality and safety matter. You will set up and operate welding and cutting equipment, read blueprints and welding symbols, perform repairs, and work at heights and in confined spaces. Pay is up to $38/hr depending on experience; candidates must pass a weld test and pre-access drug/fit-for-duty screening.

What You'll Do

• • Set up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines and equipment per job specs and welding procedures
• • Perform FCAW (G/S), GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG and SAW welding on structural steel; preheat, fit and weld to print and code
• • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols and technical drawings to lay out and assemble components
• • Use air arc gougers, grinders, cutting tools and other equipment to prepare and repair welds and joints
• • Work safely at heights, on scaffolds, in confined spaces and on uneven surfaces while following site safety rules and PPE requirements

What We're Looking For

• • Intermediate welding experience on structural steel with multiple processes (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG, SAW)
• • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols and job specifications
• • Capable of performing preheat, fit-up and quality welds and making repairs to substandard work
• • Comfort working in noisy, dusty, outdoor construction environments; able to climb, lift up to ~50 lbs and work irregular hours
• • Must have own basic hand tools and welding equipment; ability to pass a weld test and pre-access drug/alcohol and fit-for-duty testing

Qualifications

• • 6G, 4G and 3G welding certifications (required)
• • High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent field experience
• • Valid U.S. driver's license may be required for site access
• • Ability to communicate effectively in English to read drawings and follow instructions
• • Able to pass company weld test, drug/alcohol screen and fit-for-duty exam
