Structural Welder (Intermediate)
About this role
We are hiring an intermediate structural welder for construction and industrial site work in Greenville, MS. You will set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding and cutting equipment to install, repair, and fit structural steel per job specifications and welding procedures. This is hands-on field work: expect to weld with multiple processes, read blueprints and welding symbols, use grinders and air-arc gougers, and perform repairs in noisy, dusty, and changing outdoor conditions. Work schedules may include irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and travel to job sites; candidates must have their own basic tools and pass site access testing.
What you'll do
- • Set up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines and cutting equipment to meet job specs and welding procedures
- • Perform FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW (TIG) and SAW welding on structural steel components
- • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications to preheat, fit, and weld parts
- • Use air-arc gougers, grinders, stress-relief equipment and hand tools to prepare and repair welds
- • Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds to meet quality and code requirements
- • Work safely at heights, in confined spaces and on uneven surfaces while following site safety rules
What we're looking for
- • Intermediate field welding experience with structural steel and multiple welding processes
- • Able to read technical drawings, blueprints and welding symbols and follow written procedures
- • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy/dusty outdoor environments
- • Capable of standing, climbing, kneeling, lifting up to ~50 lbs and using ladders, scaffolds, and manlifts
- • Own basic welding hand tools and equipment; able to pass a weld qualification/test and site drug/fit-for-duty screening
- • Valid U.S. driver’s license may be required for some job sites
Qualifications
- • 3G, 4G and 6G welding certifications (required)
- • Proven experience with FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and SAW processes
- • Ability to pass weld test and site pre-access drug/alcohol and fit-for-duty testing
- • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; able to understand and communicate in English
- • Must have all required personal tools and the ability to travel to job sites
