Welder — Tunnel Project (Manchester, NH)

About This Role

Join a heavy civil tunnel project in Manchester, NH as a Welder supporting fabrication and repair of heavy construction equipment. This is an hourly, nonexempt role working on-site in both aboveground and underground environments. Start pay $51.00/hr DOE. You will work under direction of the Foreman to keep equipment running, fabricate and repair steel components, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. The job is physically demanding, requires strong welding skills (MIG, TIG, Stick/SMAW), and a commitment to following safety procedures (OSHA 10 required).

What You'll Do

• • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW) welding to fabricate and repair structural steel, pipe, and equipment components.
• • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols to lay out and assemble parts accurately.
• • Maintain and repair heavy construction machinery (excavators, loaders, backhoes, etc.) in the shop and in the field.
• • Operate cutting equipment (plasma/air carbon arc), grinders, torches, and hand tools safely and maintain tool condition.
• • Work aboveground and underground, including confined spaces and noisy/wet conditions, while following all safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 5 years welding experience on heavy equipment, structural steel, and pipe (MIG, TIG, Stick/SMAW).
• • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols.
• • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical systems on equipment (excavator, backhoe, loader).
• • OSHA 10 certification required and strong safety focus; ability to follow and enforce site safety procedures.
• • Physically able to lift 40+ lbs, stoop, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces; stamina for long hours in varied conditions.
• • Comfortable working in aboveground and underground environments; tunnel experience preferred.

• • CWP (Certified Welder Program) preferred/required
• • CRWT (Certified Resistance Welding Technician) preferred/required
• • High school diploma or GED preferred
• • 5+ years welding experience; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and fit-for-duty exam
