This year’s Veterans Day theme is Honor. One small way we can honor those who’ve served is by highlighting the honorable career opportunities that exist for our veterans in construction.
Unfortunately veterans comprise just 6% of the construction workforce. We think that should change. The folks over at NCCER point out that construction requires teamwork, leadership, reliability, an ability to operate heavy machinery, an ability to meet deadlines…etc. etc. Notice any overlap? Orgs like Helmets to Hardhats are working to change the situation by connecting our veterans with great career opportunities in the building trades.
