Perform work on single and double-ply rubber flat roofs, carrying out skilled operations like rolling, cutting and tear-offs.
Examine roofing systems to detect potential issues, leaks, or structural flaws and report or make necessary repairs.
Make sure all roofing work meets OSHA standards, local building codes and company safety regulations.
Work with supervisors, project managers and other crew members to finish roofing projects on time and efficiently.
Read blueprints, schematics and construction plans to direct and perform installation and repair operations.
Use a range of hand tools and power tools such as hammers, saws, drills and roofing-related equipment.
Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to keep them in good working condition and safe.
Ensure that your job site is clean and organized. Dispose materials the right way and follow appropriate signs and barriers for safety.
Make accurate evaluations and quotations for roofing construction when necessary.
Travel to job sites with your crew safely via reliable means of transport.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates for the commercial and industrial roofing jobs should have:
Relevant experience in commercial or industrial roofing. The more experience, the higher the demand.

Valid driver's license or reliable transportation to and from job locations.
Willing to work outdoors in weather conditions that may be extreme heat or cold and at heights or slopes.
Commercial roofing work requires physical stamina and a great deal of tolerance for working outdoors.
Be able to stand, kneel, bend, twist, squat, climb and lift large equipment.
Be willing to work in loud environments and around power equipment and large machinery.
Ability to lift and walk with roofing materials up to 75 pounds.
