Carpenter Foreman

GA $20-$28/hr

About this role

We are looking for a hands-on Carpenter Foreman to lead field crews building concrete formwork on heavy civil projects across Georgia. This role focuses on layout, assembly, and stripping of structural and site concrete forms—columns, walls, footings, slabs—and requires strong leadership on safety, schedule, and quality. You will supervise crew members, coordinate with concrete and site teams, enforce site safety practices, and manage daily field execution. Typical schedule includes full-day site shifts with overtime and occasional weekend work; some projects require travel and temporary lodging.

What you'll do

  • Lead and supervise carpentry crews installing and stripping heavy civil concrete formwork (columns, walls, footings, slabs).
  • Read plans and set layout lines; verify dimensions and alignments before concrete placement.
  • Assign daily tasks, track crew productivity, maintain timecards, and report progress to project management.
  • Coordinate with concrete suppliers, equipment operators, and subcontractors to sequence pours and inspections.
  • Enforce site safety practices, perform toolbox talks, and ensure proper use of PPE and fall protection.
  • Inspect formwork and embedded items for quality, make field adjustments, and document nonconformances.

What we're looking for

  • Proven foreman-level experience on heavy civil projects with primary focus on concrete formwork carpentry.
  • Hands-on skill setting and tying concrete column forms, wall forms, and slab/form accessories.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, formwork details, and layout plans.
  • Strong crew leadership and communication skills; comfortable directing 5–15 craft workers in the field.
  • Familiarity with general concrete work, form ties, shoring, bracing, and timely removal of forms.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends when required, and travel to out-of-town sites within GA.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred) course completion.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to pass background and drug screen.
  • Blueprint reading and field layout competency.
  • Forklift or equipment operator certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English on site; additional language skills are a plus.

What we offer

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options for eligible employees.
  • 401(k) retirement plan enrollment.
  • Paid time off policy and holiday pay.
  • Company-provided PPE and basic field tools; tool allowance or replacement program where applicable.
  • Overtime opportunities and travel per diem or lodging for out-of-town assignments.
  • Site safety training and paid certification classes relevant to the trade.
