About This Role
Join a commercial construction crew in College Station, TX as a Carpenter working on vertical projects like hospitals, schools, grocery stores and parking structures. You’ll frame walls, floors and roofs, install doors, windows and trim, and deliver precise finishing work from blueprint to final walk-through. This is hands-on work that values skill and a strong work ethic. Expect a mix of indoor and outdoor jobs, physical lifting, scaffold work and teamwork. Pay ranges $17–$40/hr depending on experience, with opportunities for overtime and skill development.
What You'll Do
- • Measure, cut and assemble wood and other materials to build frameworks for walls, floors and roofs per blueprints and specs
- • Install doors, windows, cabinets, trim, molding and other interior/exterior fixtures with a focus on clean finishes
- • Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures; replace damaged components and ensure code compliance
- • Read and interpret blueprints, layout plans and technical drawings to ensure accurate builds
- • Maintain tools and equipment, perform daily safety checks, and follow site safety protocols
- • Work with crew members and foremen to meet schedules, quality standards and project deadlines
What We're Looking For
- • Previous commercial carpentry experience on vertical construction projects (hospitals, schools, retail, parking structures)
- • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout plans and measurements
- • Proven skill with hand and power tools, measuring and cutting, and general framing carpentry
- • Comfort working at heights, on scaffolds, ladders and uneven surfaces; able to climb and lift regularly
- • Reliable attendance, flexible schedule, and good communication skills with crew and supervisors
- • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and work outside in temperatures from ~25° to 115°F
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain safety certifications
- • Ability to pass drug screen and background check if required
- • English required for jobsite communication
