About this role
Experienced commercial carpenter needed in Roanoke, TX to build rough wooden structures and concrete formwork on active job sites. You’ll work from sketches, blueprints, and oral instructions to assemble vertical and horizontal forms, gang forms, scaffolds, blocking and temporary shelters for commercial concrete work. This is hands-on, physical work in all weather and at elevated heights. You must provide your own basic carpentry tools, follow site safety rules, and be able to lift and move materials. Commercial experience and the ability to work reliably on a team are required.
What you'll do
- Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, Johnny clamp forms, and temporary frame shelters per sketches or blueprints
- Assemble and install scaffolding systems, bracing, and supports; ensure formwork is square and secure
- Read and follow drawings, layout dimensions, and verbal instructions from foremen or superintendents
- Maintain a clean, safe work area; follow all site safety protocols and support a drug-free jobsite
- Handle materials, set and strike forms, and perform general framing and rough carpentry tasks in all weather
What we're looking for
- 3+ years commercial carpentry experience, with work on concrete formwork preferred
- Proven ability to read sketches and basic blueprints and perform accurate measuring and cutting
- Comfort working at elevated heights and in outdoor conditions; able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Provide and maintain your own basic carpentry tools (hammer, speed square, tape, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch)
- Reliable attendance, ability to follow directions, and commitment to site safety and a drug-free workplace
Qualifications
- 3+ years commercial construction carpentry experience (preferred)
- Own basic carpentry hand tools and maintain them in good condition
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and site background check
- Comfortable working at heights and in all weather; able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Roanoke job sites (preferred)
