Commercial Carpenter (Concrete Forms)

About This Role

Carpenter needed in Smyrna, GA to build rough wooden structures and concrete formwork on commercial projects. You’ll work on vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, scaffolds, blocking and temporary shelters using sketches, blueprints, and hands-on direction. This is physical, outdoor work — you must have several years of commercial carpentry experience, provide your own basic hand tools, be able to work at elevated heights, lift materials, and follow strict safety and drug-free rules. Pay is up to $31/hr depending on experience.

What You'll Do

• • Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, Johnny clamp forms, scaffolds, tunnel/bridge/sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters per sketches or blueprints
• • Measure, cut, and assemble rough framing and formwork; install and remove formwork and bracing
• • Read and follow drawings, sketches, and oral instructions to meet layout and alignment requirements
• • Set up and use scaffolding and access equipment safely; work at elevated heights as required
• • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all site safety procedures, including toolbox talks and PPE use
• • Provide and maintain personal basic hand tools; report equipment issues and assist with material handling

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 3 years commercial carpentry experience preferred, with hands-on concrete formwork and gang form experience
• • Ability to read and interpret drawings, measure accurately, and perform general rough carpentry and framing
• • Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather; frequently lift materials up to 50 lbs
• • Must provide basic hand tools (hammer, tape, speed square, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch, etc.)
• • Follow and enforce jobsite safety protocols and maintain a drug-free work status; able to pass pre-employment drug screen

Qualifications

• • 3+ years commercial construction carpentry experience preferred
• • Must provide basic personal hand tools
• • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Smyrna, GA job sites
• • OSHA 10 or willingness to obtain preferred; able to work at heights and in all weather conditions
