Commercial Carpenter

Dallas, TX $21-$27/hr

About this role

Join a Dallas-based commercial construction crew building rough wooden structures and concrete formwork on active job sites. This role focuses on forming — vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, scaffolds and temporary shelters — for commercial projects across the Dallas area. This is physical, hands-on work. Expect early starts, outdoor work in all weather, frequent work at heights, and job-site schedules that may include overtime. Candidates must have several years of commercial carpentry experience and provide their own basic hand tools.

What you'll do

  • Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, Johnny clamp forms, and temporary frame shelters per sketches, blueprints or oral instructions
  • Frame and install scaffolds, tunnel/bridge supports and other temporary structures for concrete work
  • Read and follow drawings, layouts and measurements; measure, mark and cut materials accurately
  • Follow site safety procedures, use personal protective equipment, and maintain a drug-free work environment
  • Perform site cleanup, maintain tools and equipment, and assist other trades as needed
  • Work outdoors in all weather and perform physically demanding tasks at elevated heights

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years commercial construction carpentry experience preferred, with proven concrete formwork experience
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and lift materials regularly up to 50 lbs (frequently heavier with team lifts)
  • Must provide and maintain basic carpentry hand tools (hammer, speed square, tape measure, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, blueprints and layout instructions
  • Comfort working outdoors in variable weather and on busy commercial job sites
  • Willingness to follow safety rules, participate in site safety briefings, and submit to drug screening

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour card preferred (or willing to obtain)
  • Competent person or scaffold training preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Proven commercial carpentry experience (references available upon request)

What we offer

  • Health, dental and vision plan options
  • Retirement savings plan (401k) with employer match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Overtime opportunities on project schedules
  • Site-specific safety training and certification support
