Commercial Carpenter — Formwork

About This Role

Join a hands-on commercial carpentry crew in Athens, GA focused on concrete formwork and structural supports. This is physically demanding work building vertical and horizontal forms, gang forms, scaffolds and temporary structures on commercial job sites. You’ll work at heights, outdoors in all weather and must be able to lift frequently up to 50 lbs. We need reliable carpenters who can read sketches or blueprints, follow directions, and take pride in safe, durable formwork. Bring your basic hand tools, show up ready to work in a drug-free environment, and you’ll find steady, practical work with room to build skills on large commercial projects.

What You'll Do

• • Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking and temporary structures from sketches, blueprints or oral instructions
• • Measure, cut, assemble and brace formwork; install tiebacks, wales, shores and spreaders to spec
• • Set up, inspect and dismantle scaffolds and temporary supports safely
• • Assist with concrete placement support, cleanup and form removal after pours
• • Maintain and care for hand tools and formwork materials; report damaged or unsafe equipment
• • Follow site safety rules, use fall protection and work in a drug-free environment

What We're Looking For

• • 3+ years commercial carpentry experience preferred, with formwork or concrete carpentry experience
• • Able to read sketches/blueprints, measure and cut accurately
• • Comfortable working at elevated heights and outdoors in all weather
• • Frequently lift materials up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• • Provide own basic carpentry tools (hammer, speed square, tape, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch)
• • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and have reliable transportation to job sites

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-hour card preferred (OSHA 30 considered a plus)
• • Scaffold competency training or experience preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• • CPR/First Aid certification a plus
• • English proficiency for reading plans; Spanish helpful
• • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
