Carpenter Journeyman / Scaffold Foreman
About This Role
Join a hands-on commercial construction crew as an experienced Carpenter Journeyman or Scaffold Foreman working in the San Antonio and Houston areas. You’ll build and dismantle scaffolding, perform rough and finish carpentry, read plans, and keep jobs running on schedule. We need tradespeople who can lead a small crew or work as part of a team, follow and enforce safety rules, coordinate permits and inspections, and deliver quality workmanship on commercial projects. This role is practical, physical work — you’ll be on site every day making things fit and keeping crews moving safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- • Assemble, modify, and dismantle commercial scaffolding systems safely and to code
- • Perform general rough carpentry: framing, measuring, cutting, and installing materials
- • Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and layout drawings to execute work accurately
- • Lead or work with a crew to meet project schedules, including daily task assignment and supervision
- • Coordinate with site superintendents and inspectors for permits, inspections, and site access
- • Maintain jobsite safety, enforce PPE and fall-protection procedures, and keep sites clean
What We're Looking For
- • Proven commercial construction experience with scaffolding installation and carpentry
- • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and execute site layout
- • Leadership experience supervising small crews, assigning tasks, and inspecting work
- • Knowledge of permit/inspection processes and ability to coordinate with inspectors
- • Strong measuring, cutting, and general rough carpentry skills; attention to quality
- • Commitment to enforcing safety procedures and maintaining a tidy, organized site
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10-Hour minimum; OSHA 30 preferred
- • Scaffold Competent Person or NCCCO scaffold certification preferred (or equivalent)
- • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation; ability to travel between sites
- • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- • Spanish language skills a plus (conversational)
