Carpenter - Concrete Finisher

About This Role

Join a hands-on crew in Columbus, OH as an experienced concrete finisher. You will handle formwork carpentry, concrete placement, finishing, and protection on commercial and public projects. This role is practical, physical, and focused on getting quality concrete work done right. Pay is up to $26/hr plus per diem. We’re open to workers willing to relocate. You’ll work with finishing tools (screeds, trowels, power floats), read construction drawings, and help keep jobs on schedule and to spec.

What You'll Do

• • Set up and build concrete formwork, install reinforcing, and prepare pour locations
• • Place, screed, float and finish concrete surfaces to specified tolerances
• • Operate finishing equipment (power trowels, screeds, vibrators) and hand tools
• • Ensure proper curing, protection, and joint work to meet quality standards
• • Read and follow construction drawings, site layout, and project instructions
• • Maintain clean, safe work areas and report quality/safety issues to foreman

What We're Looking For

• • Proven concrete finishing and formwork carpentry experience on commercial projects
• • Skilled with finishing tools (screed, trowel, power float) and concrete placement
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and civil layouts
• • Experience with concrete reinforcing, curing methods, and concrete repair
• • Capable of managing time/material on tasks, inspecting finished work, and training crew

Qualifications

• • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• • Minimum 3 years concrete finishing/formwork experience preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willing to travel
• • OSHA 10-hour construction card or equivalent preferred; drug screen may be required
