Carpenter — Concrete Finisher

About this role

Join a Columbus, OH crew as an experienced concrete finisher working on commercial and government projects. This per diem position focuses on concrete placement, formwork, finishing, and on-site quality control. You’ll handle layout, build and strip forms, operate trowels and screeds, ensure proper curing and protection, and read construction drawings. English and Spanish required. Open to workers willing to relocate; travel and relocation assistance available for the right candidates.

What you'll do

• • Perform concrete placement, spreading, consolidation, and finishing (strike, screed, float, trowel)
• • Build, set, and remove formwork and related form components per drawings and layout
• • Protect and cure finished concrete surfaces to meet project specifications
• • Operate finishing tools and small equipment (screed, bull float, power trowel, hand tools)
• • Read and follow construction drawings, grades, and layout; communicate progress with crew and supervisors

What we're looking for

• • Proven hands-on experience with concrete finishing and formwork on commercial or government projects
• • Comfortable using screeds, trowels, power floats, and other finishing tools
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and perform layout to grade
• • Strong focus on safety, quality, and following site-specific procedures
• • Available for per diem assignment schedules and willing to relocate for multi-week projects

Qualifications

• • Bilingual: Spanish and English required (able to communicate on site)
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• • OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred (or willing to obtain)
• • Able to pass background check and drug screen as required by project
• • Physical ability to lift, bend, and work outdoors in varied weather for extended shifts
