Concrete Carpenter / Finisher

About This Role

Concrete Carpenter / Finisher needed in Columbus, OH to handle formwork, placement, and finishing on commercial and government projects. You’ll build and set forms, place concrete, and finish surfaces using screeds, trowels and power tools. Work is hands-on, outdoors, and task-focused. Pay is up to $26/hr with per diem for travel positions. This is a per diem assignment open to experienced workers willing to relocate for steady short- to mid-term projects. Candidates must be comfortable on safety-focused job sites and able to read basic drawings and stakes.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set, brace and strip wood and metal forms for slabs, walls, and footings (formwork).
• • Place, level and finish concrete using screed, bull float, hand trowel and power trowel to specified grade and finish.
• • Ensure proper curing, protection and joint layout for concrete surfaces to meet quality specs.
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, layout points, and grade stakes; report discrepancies.
• • Operate, maintain and clean finishing tools and equipment; follow safety procedures on site.
• • Work with crew and foreman to meet schedule, quality standards and inspect finished work.

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 3+ years concrete carpentry/formwork and finishing experience on commercial or government jobs.
• • Skilled with formwork, screed, trowel, float and power finishing equipment.
• • Able to read basic blueprints, layout drawings and grade instructions.
• • Physically able to lift, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather; reliable attendance.
• • Bilingual: English and Spanish required.
• • Willing to relocate/travel for per diem assignments and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• • Bilingual: English and Spanish (required).
• • OSHA 10-hour Construction card preferred or equivalent safety training.
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to jobs.
• • Experience on government projects and familiarity with government site requirements a plus.
• • Ability to pass basic drug screen and background check if required by client.
