Concrete Carpenter / Finisher

About This Role

Join a hands-on crew in Columbus, OH as a concrete carpenter / finisher. This per diem role focuses on concrete placement, formwork, finishing, curing and on-site quality control for commercial and public projects. We need experienced tradespeople who read drawings, operate finishing tools, follow safety procedures, and can work independently or lead small crews. Pay is up to $26/hr and relocation assistance is available for the right candidates.

What You'll Do

• • Set, build and strip concrete formwork to specifications; ensure forms are square and secure
• • Place, consolidate and finish concrete using screeds, trowels and power finishing tools
• • Protect and cure concrete surfaces to meet strength and finish requirements
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, stake layouts, and concrete schedules
• • Maintain site safety, inspect work for quality, and communicate status to foremen

What We're Looking For

• • Proven hands-on experience with concrete placement, finishing, and formwork carpentry
• • Skilled operating hand and power finishing tools (screed, float, trowel, power trowel)
• • Ability to read and interpret civil and construction drawings and perform site layout
• • Knowledge of concrete reinforcing, curing methods, and basic concrete repair
• • Experience with time/material tracking, work inspection, and on-site safety practices
• • Comfort working in varied weather (extreme heat/cold) and performing physical labor

Qualifications

• • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• • 3+ years concrete finishing/formwork experience or completed apprenticeship
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• • OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training
• • Willingness to pass drug screen and background check
• • Available for travel and per diem assignments; open to relocation
