Concrete Carpenter

About This Role

Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in Columbus, OH to build, assemble, and strip concrete forms for commercial and government projects. This is a per diem position paying up to $29/hr for skilled hands who know formwork, reinforcing, and layout. You’ll work on-site with a crew, follow construction drawings and specs, and be expected to keep work accurate, safe, and on schedule. Candidates must be able to work full shifts, travel as needed, and communicate in English and Spanish.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set, brace and strip concrete forms to specifications for footings, walls, slabs and other structures
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, civil layouts, and formwork details to layout and assemble forms accurately
• • Install concrete reinforcing (rebar/ties) and coordinate with concrete placement crews
• • Perform quality checks on formwork alignment, dimensions and surface tolerances; adjust as needed
• • Work with crew members and foremen to coordinate pours, rigging, scaffolding and site safety

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry and general concrete work on commercial or government jobs
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, civil details and formwork plans
• • Hands-on skills with concrete placement, finishing support, reinforcing and form bracing
• • Experience with scaffolding, rigging and basic site layout
• • Reliable attendance, able to work full shifts and overtime when required
• • Must be able to work in varied weather (hot/cold) and handle physical lift/load demands

Qualifications

• • Bilingual: English and Spanish required
• • 3+ years concrete formwork experience preferred
• • OSHA-10 (or OSHA-30 preferred) or equivalent safety training
• • Rigging or scaffolding certification a plus
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
