Concrete Carpenter (Formwork)

About This Role

Concrete carpenters needed in Columbus, OH to build and assemble concrete forms for commercial and government projects. This is a per diem position paying up to $29/hr. You’ll work on multi‑week projects, travel to job sites, and be part of a hands‑on crew that values speed and accuracy. You must be able to read construction drawings, lay out and set forms, install reinforcement, rig and brace scaffolding, and help with concrete placement and finishing when required. Spanish and English communication skills are required to coordinate with crew and supervision.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set up, and strip concrete forms to drawings and specifications
• • Read and interpret construction and civil drawings; perform site layout for formwork
• • Install concrete reinforcing, spread and secure hardware, and rig/brace formwork
• • Coordinate with crew on pour day, assist with concrete placement, finishing, and protection
• • Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure form accuracy and alignment
• • Maintain tools, clean work areas, follow safety procedures and report issues to foreman

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience building concrete formwork and carpentry for commercial projects
• • Ability to read and interpret construction and civil drawings and specifications
• • Hands‑on experience with concrete placement, finishing, curing, and reinforcement installation
• • Skilled with rigging, frame & system scaffolding, bracing, and site layout
• • Strong time/material management, ability to inspect work and maintain accuracy under schedule pressure
• • Physically fit for heavy lifting, working in extreme heat/cold, and long days on site

Qualifications

• • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal communication on site)
• • Minimum 3 years’ experience in concrete formwork carpentry or similar roles
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain safety training
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check when required
