Concrete Carpenter (Formwork)

About This Role

Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in Columbus, OH to build and assemble concrete forms on commercial and government projects. This is a per diem position paying up to $29/hr with steady field work for crews who know formwork and concrete operations. You will work as part of a crew installing forms, setting reinforcing, laying out pours and ensuring quality formwork and concrete placement. Must be able to read drawings, follow directions on site, and communicate in English and Spanish.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set, brace and strip concrete forms to drawings and specifications
• • Interpret construction drawings, civil layouts and pour plans for accurate form setup
• • Install reinforcement, coordinate concrete placement/pours and assist with finishing
• • Perform site layout, measure and check tolerances to ensure formwork accuracy
• • Collaborate with crew members and on-site supervisors to maintain schedule and safety
• • Inspect formwork, identify issues, and make repairs or adjustments as needed

What We're Looking For

• • Proven hands-on experience with concrete formwork carpentry and general concrete work
• • Ability to read and interpret construction and civil drawings
• • Experience with concrete placement, finishing, reinforcing and curing/protection
• • Skilled in rigging, frame & system scaffolding, and basic site layout
• • Strong time/material management and work inspection habits; able to follow a crew schedule
• • Comfort working in extreme heat/cold environments and performing physical labor

Qualifications

• • Fluent or conversational in English and Spanish (required)
• • Several years' experience building concrete forms and formwork carpentry
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for per diem/travel assignments)
• • OSHA-10 (preferred) and willingness to complete site-specific safety orientations
