Form Carpenter

About this role

Join a local concrete forming crew in Culpeper, VA installing footing, wall, column, slab-on-grade, deck and tilt-up/precast forms. You’ll work on commercial and civil projects, following building layouts and working with small crews to set formwork that’s straight, square and safe. This is hands-on carpentry on active job sites. You must be able to follow layout information, lift and handle materials, operate basic power and hand tools, and work to crew directions. OSHA 10 is preferred but training and certification support can be provided after hire.

What you'll do

• • Install footing, wall, column and structural deck forms per drawings
• • Set slab-on-grade and prep/set tilt-up and precast forms
• • Work from building layout information and coordinate with crew for accurate placement
• • Measure, cut and assemble formwork; secure bracing and ties
• • Maintain a safe work area, follow site safety rules and use PPE
• • Participate in on-the-job training and required certifications

What we're looking for

• • US citizenship required
• • Hands-on experience with concrete formwork or general framing carpentry
• • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and site layout
• • Able to measure, cut and install wood and metal form components accurately
• • Physically able to lift materials, work on uneven surfaces and in varied weather
• • OSHA 10 preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 preferred (will sponsor training after hire if needed)
• • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry or general framing
• • Competent in drawing reading, layout and measuring techniques
• • Able to communicate in English for safety and coordination
• • Physically fit for manual labor, lifting and working outdoors
