Carpenter — Lead (Commercial Concrete Forms)

About This Role

Join a Nashville-based commercial construction crew as a Carpenter focused on concrete formwork and rough carpentry. You’ll build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, scaffolds and other temporary structures on large commercial projects. Work is often outdoors and at elevated heights. This role pays up to $45/hr and requires reliable attendance, a strong safety mindset, and your own basic carpentry tools (hammer, speed square, tape, chalk line, pliers, pouch, etc.). Commercial carpentry experience, especially with concrete and gang forms, is preferred (3+ years).

What You'll Do

• • Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, and Johnny clamp forms from sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions
• • Set and brace scaffolds, tunnel/bridge supports, and temporary frame shelters; perform layout and measuring for form installation
• • Install and remove concrete formwork and perform basic concrete placement support tasks during pours
• • Work at elevated heights and outdoors; secure work areas and follow site-specific fall protection and scaffold procedures
• • Maintain and care for hand tools and equipment; keep work area clean and organized
• • Follow safety procedures, attend toolbox talks, and maintain a drug-free work environment

What We're Looking For

• • Preferred 3+ years commercial construction carpentry experience, with concrete/gang formwork experience highly desirable
• • Ability to read and interpret drawings, perform site layout, and measure/cut accurately
• • Comfort working at heights and performing physically demanding tasks; frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• • Provide and maintain your own basic carpentry hand tools (hammer, speed square, tape measure, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch)
• • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and follow strict safety protocols
• • Pass drug screening and comply with site safety rules

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-hour (preferred) or OSHA 30-hour card
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• • 3+ years documented commercial carpentry/formwork experience (preferred)
• • Comfortable communicating in English on-site (ability to follow instructions and safety briefings)
