Concrete Carpenter (Formwork) - San Antonio

About this role

We're hiring experienced concrete carpenters in the San Antonio, TX area to build, set and strip concrete forms for commercial and government projects. This is a per diem position with projects across the region; candidates should be ready to travel or relocate for work. You will work on-site with a crew to lay out formwork, interpret drawings, measure and cut materials, install scaffolding and temporary supports, and ensure clean, accurate form installation that meets specs and safety rules. Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are required.

What you'll do

• • Build, set, brace and strip concrete forms for walls, slabs and footings according to plans
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, layout lines, and set form elevations and alignment
• • Measure, cut and assemble wood and metal form components; install blocking, trim and paneling
• • Install scaffolding systems and perform crane signaling as required for safe lifting and placement
• • Work with crew leads and other trades to maintain schedule, inspect work for quality, and follow safety procedures

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience building concrete formwork on commercial or government projects
• • Skilled in reading drawings, site layout, measuring and cutting, and general framing carpentry
• • Comfortable with bench, finish and rough carpentry tasks; able to install doors, trim, and in-wall blocking when needed
• • Able to perform physical work in varied weather, lift heavy materials, and work from scaffolds and heights
• • Willing to travel for projects, accept per diem assignments, and relocate if required

Qualifications

• • Bilingual: Spanish and English (required)
• • OSHA 10 (or equivalent) preferred; site-specific safety training required
• • Experience with crane signaling and scaffold systems installation
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; able to travel to job sites
• • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• • Strong references demonstrating concrete formwork and general carpentry skills
