Concrete Carpenter — Formwork (Per Diem) — Lubbock, TX
About This Role
Experienced concrete carpenters needed in Lubbock, TX for per diem assignments building and assembling concrete forms on government and commercial jobs. You’ll work on site reading plans, setting forms, aligning reinforcement, and making sure everything is plumb and square before concrete pour. This is hands-on work — heavy lifting, accurate measuring, and teamwork. Open to candidates willing to relocate or travel to nearby project sites. Spanish and English required. Competitive daily pay, steady hours, and potential overtime on large pours.
What You'll Do
- • Measure, cut and build wood and metal concrete forms per drawings and specifications
- • Set, align and brace forms; install screeds, bulkheads, embeds and chamfers for pours
- • Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and layout marks on site
- • Work with rebar crews and concrete finishers to coordinate pours and ensure quality
- • Maintain tools, inspect formwork for safety/accuracy, and follow site layout instructions
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 3+ years building concrete formwork and performing general framing carpentry
- • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and formwork plans
- • Skilled in measuring, cutting, layout, bracing, and scaffold setup
- • Experience with crane signaling and working safely around lifts and concrete trucks
- • Reliable transportation, able to travel to job sites and work flexible schedules including overtime
- • Strong teamwork, good communication in English and Spanish on site
Qualifications
- • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal on-site communication required)
- • OSHA 10-hour construction safety card (preferred: OSHA 30)
- • Signalperson / crane signaling certification (or proven experience)
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; clean driving record preferred
- • 3+ years documented concrete formwork or related carpentry experience
