Carpenter Helper

About this role

Baker Construction is hiring a Carpenter Helper in Culpeper, VA to support concrete formwork and structural carpentry on active jobsites. This role assists with footing, deck, slab-on-grade, and tilt-up/precast formwork using hand and power tools. The position offers steady work, training opportunities, and a path for advancement with a specialty concrete contractor.

What you'll do

• Assist with installing footing forms
• Help build and install structural deck forms
• Set slab-on-grade forms and prep tilt-up/precast forms
• Use hand and power tools to construct, erect, strip, and repair wood, plywood, and steel structures
• Measure and cut wood safely to specifications
• Follow site safety procedures and participate in required training

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year related experience or training
• Experience helping carpenters with framing or concrete formwork
• Able to cut and measure wood accurately and safely
• Proficient with common carpentry hand and power tools
• Comfortable working on active construction jobsites and following safety direction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training
• Willingness to participate in company training and certifications
