Carpenter (Concrete Formwork)
About this role
Join a local concrete formwork crew in Orlando building and installing structural concrete forms under a foreman’s supervision. You’ll work on footing, wall, column, structural deck, slab-on-grade, and tilt-up/precast tasks using hand and power tools, following construction documents and site layout. This is a hands-on role with an emphasis on safety and on-the-job training. You’ll be expected to perform quality carpentry, follow layout and pouring procedures, help maintain a safe work area, and take part in ongoing site safety training and certifications.
What you'll do
- • Construct, erect, strip and repair wood, plywood and steel concrete forms per construction documents
- • Install footing, wall, column, structural deck and slab-on-grade forms
- • Prep and set tilt-up and precast forms and assist with building layout and alignment
- • Use hand and power carpenter tools for measuring, cutting, fastening and bracing formwork
- • Follow site safety rules, maintain clean work areas, report hazards and participate in toolbox talks
- • Attend required training and help maintain formwork quality through inspection and basic repair
What we're looking for
- • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years related carpentry/formwork experience
- • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and follow layout instructions
- • Strong skills in measuring, cutting, fastening and general rough carpentry for concrete formwork
- • Experience with tilt-up/precast setup, slab-on-grade and structural deck formwork preferred
- • Able to work safely on jobsite: climb, lift, bend and stand for extended periods; follow PPE and safety procedures
- • Must pass a background check and participate in required site safety training
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or GED
- • Minimum 2 years of concrete formwork or related carpentry experience
- • Ability to read drawings and perform site layout
- • Pass a background check
- • Willingness to complete OSHA or site-specific safety training and certifications; English proficiency for reading plans and safety instructions
