Doors, Frames & Hardware Installer / Carpenter

About This Role

We’re hiring experienced commercial Doors, Frames & Hardware installers in the Atlanta area for full-time work (40 hrs/week). You’ll install commercial doors, frames and hardware, perform basic welding/prep on frames, and move between shop and job sites while keeping quality and schedules on track. This role is hands-on: you must handle prefinished doors, patch minor dents/dings, read plans and templates, create daily Pre-Task Plans, and work with a team to complete daily production. Reliable transportation around Atlanta and solid commercial door experience are required.

What You'll Do

  • Install commercial doors, metal frames and hardware (locks, hinges, closers) per plans and manufacturer specs
  • Read and interpret diagrams, templates, plans and manufacturer literature to set openings and hardware locations
  • Perform basic welding and prep work on door frames; touch-up and protect finishes
  • Handle, hang and adjust prefinished doors; patch dents/dings with Bondo and protect surfaces
  • Create daily Pre-Task Plans and manage workflow between the shop and multiple job sites
  • Load/unload materials, maintain jobsite cleanliness, and follow site safety requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years commercial door installation experience preferred
  • Ability to read drawings, templates and manufacturer instructions
  • Proven skill with hand tools, battery drills and basic welding for frame prep
  • Experience installing locks, hinges, closers and intermediate-level hardware
  • Own reliable transportation and ability to visit multiple job sites in one day
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to follow established door hanging sequences

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
  • Commercial door/frame installation experience (3-5 years preferred)
  • Basic welding ability or welding certificate preferred
  • Ability to read and follow plans, templates and manufacturer literature
  • Physically able to lift and carry heavy doors and materials safely
  • OSHA 10 or similar safety training preferred; able to pass background checks if required
