About This Role

We are seeking a skilled carpenter in San Francisco to construct, install, and repair wood and mixed-material structures. You’ll work on both rough framing and finish tasks across residential and commercial jobs, reading blueprints and delivering quality work on schedule. This role suits a hands-on tradesperson who can work independently or as part of a crew, follow safety practices, and maintain tools and materials. Competitive pay based on experience and steady Bay Area work available.

What You'll Do

  • Construct, install, and repair wood and mixed-material structures, fixtures, doors, windows, cabinets, and trim.
  • Perform rough framing (studs, joists, sheathing) and finish carpentry (trim, molding, stair work, final fits).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, elevations, and technical drawings; take accurate measurements and lay out work.
  • Measure, mark, cut, fit, and fasten materials using hand and power tools; maintain tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with crew members and subcontractors to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, safe job sites, secure materials, and follow all safety protocols and permit requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in both rough and finish carpentry (residential or commercial).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Skilled in wood framing, measuring and cutting, general framing carpentry, and finish trim work.
  • Ability to work independently or on a crew, reliable transportation, and punctual attendance.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
  • Familiarity with basic building codes, layout tools, and safe tool operation.

Qualifications

  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA-10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
  • Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training is a plus.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • English required; Spanish or Tagalog helpful.
  • Comfortable working at heights; fall protection training preferred.
