Concrete Carpenter

About this role

Join a busy commercial concrete crew in Fort Lauderdale. We need experienced concrete carpenters who know forms, walls and slab finishing and can work full time on site. Candidates must be local to Fort Lauderdale. You’ll run concrete formwork to drawings, place and finish slabs, handle curing and repairs, and operate common finishing equipment. Expect outdoor and indoor work in varying weather with full PPE required.

What you'll do

• • Set, erect and strip concrete forms per drawings and project specifications (walls, curbs, slabs).
• • Place, finish, cure, cut, patch and repair concrete slabs and flatwork to meet required flatness/levelness.
• • Establish finish grades, set string lines, tie rebar and verify slopes and ADA compliance on ramps, sidewalks and drives.
• • Operate finishing equipment: walk-behind and ride-on trowels, bull floats, straight edges, vibratory and curing equipment.
• • Use hand tools for joint tooling, edging, and final floor finishing; perform restoration and joint treatments as needed.
• • Work safely on site in all weather with required PPE and follow site-specific safety instructions.

What we're looking for

• • Local Fort Lauderdale candidates only; available for full-time on-site work.
• • Minimum 3+ years commercial concrete carpentry experience with forms, walls and slab finishing.
• • Able to read tape measure and basic drawings; set string lines and establish finish elevations.
• • Proficient tying rebar and working to slope/ADA tolerances for ramps, sidewalks, curbs and drives.
• • Skilled operating trowel machines, bull floats, straight edges, vibratory and curing equipment.
• • Physically able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, climb, kneel and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• • CPR and First Aid
• • OSHA 30 preferred (OSHA 10 minimum)
• • 3+ years commercial concrete experience
• • Ability to follow safety rules and wear required PPE at all times
