About this role
Seeking experienced concrete carpenters for per diem assignments based in Bowie, MD and the Washington, D.C. metro area. You will build, assemble and set formwork for commercial and government projects and work on-site with crews and foremen to ensure accurate pours and quality results. This is hands-on field work: reading plans, laying out and cutting materials, assembling forms, assisting with pours and stripping, and maintaining a safe, organized work area. Candidates should be reliable, able to travel to job sites in the region, and comfortable working in a bilingual (English/Spanish) environment.
What you'll do
- Build, set, brace and align concrete forms and formwork for commercial and government projects
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and as-built drawings for form layout
- Perform site layout, measure, mark and cut materials to exact dimensions
- Assemble form panels, embed items, install anchors and verify alignment and levels
- Assist with concrete placement, finishing support, stripping forms and cleanup
- Maintain tools and equipment, follow site safety plans and coordinate with crew members
What we're looking for
- Proven hands-on experience in concrete formwork carpentry and general framing
- Skilled at reading construction drawings, site layout and measuring/cutting materials
- Experience with concrete placement/pouring, form stripping and general concrete work
- Comfortable working on government/commercial job sites and following site-specific safety rules
- Available for per diem assignments and travel across the Washington, D.C. metro area
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Previous project references or verifiable formwork experience
- Comfortable lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in variable conditions
