Concrete Carpenter — Formwork (OKC, OK)
About this role
Experienced concrete carpenters wanted in the Oklahoma City, OK area to build, assemble and strip concrete forms for government and commercial projects. You’ll be part of a crew installing formwork, setting embeds and reinforcing, and preparing for pours on-site. This is a per diem position and we’re open to workers willing to relocate. Work will include repetitive physical tasks, frequent travel to job sites in the region, and working on government-run projects that require attention to schedules and site rules. Bilingual English/Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply — clear communication on site is critical.
What you'll do
- • Build, set, brace and strip timber and metal concrete forms to specifications
- • Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings and formwork plans
- • Install concrete reinforcing, embeds, blockouts and form ties; prepare for concrete placement
- • Support concrete placements: assist with placement, consolidation, finishing prep, curing and protection
- • Operate and maintain hand and power tools, forklifts, scaffolding and basic rigging equipment
- • Keep the site clean and safe: temporary fencing, traffic control/flagging, debris removal and work inspection for quality control
What we're looking for
- • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry and building forms on commercial or government jobs
- • Hands-on experience with concrete placement/pouring, concrete finishing, curing and protection
- • Comfortable reading and working from construction drawings and specifications
- • Experience with concrete reinforcing, scaffolding systems, rigging and forklift operation
- • Able to perform heavy physical labor, work outdoors in varied weather and follow site safety rules
- • Willingness to travel for per diem assignments and open to relocation for the role
Qualifications
- • Bilingual: English and Spanish required
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent construction safety training
- • Forklift certification and scaffolding/rigging experience preferred
- • Traffic control/flagging certification preferred where required by site
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
