Concrete Carpenter — Formwork (Orlando, FL)

About this role

Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in the Orlando, FL area to build and assemble concrete forms for commercial and government projects. This is a per diem assignment that requires strong formwork skills, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently on site. You’ll work with a crew on active construction sites, set up forms, read drawings, and help ensure pours meet specifications. Must be ready for travel to nearby sites as needed and able to communicate in Spanish on the job.

What you'll do

  • Build, set up and dismantle concrete forms and formwork systems for slabs, walls, columns, and foundations
  • Interpret construction drawings, as-built drawings and specifications to lay out formwork and anchor points
  • Measure, cut and install lumber, plywood, metal forms, ties, bracing and hardware to specified tolerances
  • Verify form alignment, dimensions and levels prior to concrete placement; make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain quality
  • Coordinate with crew members, concrete crews and site supervisors to support safe, timely pours and curing processes
  • Maintain tools and equipment, secure jobsite materials, and follow site-specific safety procedures and instructions

What we're looking for

  • Proven hands-on experience in concrete formwork carpentry on commercial or government projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site layout plans and as-built drawings
  • Skilled in measuring, cutting, fastening and general framing carpentry techniques
  • Experience with concrete placement support, form bracing, tie systems and maintaining pour tolerances
  • Comfort working outdoors in varied weather and on active construction sites; able to follow directions and work as part of a crew
  • Must be able to travel to local job sites and accept per diem assignments when required

Qualifications

  • Fluent Spanish (required)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel
  • Ability to pass site background check and drug screen if required by client
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety card preferred; other site safety credentials a plus
