Concrete Carpenter
About This Role
Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in Salt Lake City, UT to build, set and strip concrete forms for commercial and government projects. You’ll work on-site with a crew, interpret drawings, and make sure formwork meets specs and tolerances. This role is hands-on: measuring, cutting, assembling forms, and assisting with pours. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) with solid formwork and civil construction experience are encouraged to apply. Travel assignments and steady work available for the right crew members.
What You'll Do
- • Build, set, brace and strip concrete forms for walls, columns, footings and slabs
- • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and as-built documents
- • Lay out formwork and verify dimensions and elevations on site
- • Measure, cut and assemble form materials (wood, plywood, metal) to required tolerances
- • Collaborate with crew members, concrete crews and foremen to coordinate pours and ensure quality
- • Inspect formwork for safety and quality; report and repair defects before pours
What We're Looking For
- • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry and general concrete work
- • Skilled at reading and interpreting construction drawings and as-built drawings
- • Accurate site layout, measuring and cutting skills
- • General framing carpentry and commercial/civil construction experience
- • Comfortable assisting with concrete placement/pouring and working around active pours
- • Able to work safely on commercial and government job sites and follow site-specific procedures
Qualifications
- • Bilingual: Spanish and English required or strongly preferred
- • Minimum 2 years hands-on concrete formwork experience (commercial/government projects preferred)
- • OSHA 10 (or higher) card preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to job sites
- • Able to pass drug screen and background check
- • NCCER or equivalent certification for carpentry/formwork is a plus
