Finished Carpenter - Millwork & Casework

About This Role

Skilled carpenter needed in San Antonio, TX to install high-level millwork: woodwork, casework (AWW, PL, metal), wall paneling and ornamental metalwork. You’ll install casework, fume hoods, doors, frames, hardware and miscellaneous specialties on commercial projects. Pay range is $20–$45/hr depending on experience. This role requires solid blueprint reading, preplanning materials and tools for efficient installs, working with minimal supervision, and strict adherence to site safety programs. You’ll be expected to report hazards and incidents, use Stop Work Authority when necessary, and help maintain a safe jobsite for the crew.

What You'll Do

  • Install AWW, PL and metal casework, fume hoods, wall paneling, doors, frames, hardware and misc. specialties on commercial jobs
  • Preplan each install: determine tools, materials, layout and the safest, fastest installation method
  • Read and follow blueprints, as-built drawings and shop drawings to layout and set casework and millwork
  • Measure, cut, fit and finish trim, countertops, cabinets and panels to spec; make adjustments in the field as needed
  • Follow the site safety program, report hazards and incidents, and exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions occur
  • Work independently or with small crews, keeping work areas organized and maintaining tools and materials

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years experience as a finished carpenter or in architectural millwork
  • Proven experience with casework, plastic laminate, cabinet and countertop installation, trim, paneling and door/hardware installs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and site layout plans
  • Supply and maintain personal hand and power tools; able to measure, cut and install to tight tolerances
  • Able to climb ladders and scaffolds, stoop/kneel/crouch, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs; able to work with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to follow and participate in a formal safety program and report incidents promptly

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years finished carpentry or millwork experience (casework, plastic laminate, architectural millwork)
  • Union card where applicable
  • OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; supply personal tool set
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred; Spanish language skills helpful
