Carpenter Journeyman
About This Role
Journeyman carpenter needed in Abilene, TX for reliable day-shift work. This role pays $32.00 per hour plus a $130 per diem for each day worked. We’re seeking an experienced carpenter who can run layout, framing, formwork and finish tasks safely and productively. You’ll work on concrete formwork, wood framing (floor, wall and roof), and finish carpentry. The right candidate has at least 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience, reads drawings well, and takes pride in clean, accurate work.
What You'll Do
- • Set and build concrete forms/formwork and perform form stripping and cleanup
- • Lay out and construct wood framing for floors, walls and roofs from drawings
- • Perform general rough carpentry and finish carpentry tasks to quality standards
- • Measure, mark and cut lumber and materials accurately; maintain templates and jigs
- • Maintain hand and power tools, keep jobsite tidy, and follow safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- • 5+ years commercial carpentry experience (rough, finish and formwork)
- • Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and layout plans
- • Hands-on experience with concrete forms, formwork and related carpentry
- • Strong wood framing skills: floor framing, roof framing and general framing
- • Able to perform accurate measuring, cutting and on-site adjustments
Qualifications
- • Journeyman-level carpentry skill or equivalent experience
- • Ability to read blueprints and site drawings
- • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- • Valid driver's license preferred
- • OSHA 10 (or 30) preferred
