Journeyman Concrete Carpenter

About this role

We are hiring a traveling journeyman-level concrete carpenter based out of Wakefield, MA. This hands-on role focuses on concrete formwork, layout, structural framing and bracing on commercial and heavy civil projects. Assignments are travel-based with per diem and multi-week placements. You will work with crew leads and foremen to set forms, install shoring and scaffolding, read and follow plans, and ensure pours run on schedule and meet quality standards. This role requires a reliable, safety-minded carpenter who can travel, follow drawings, and work efficiently in changing jobsite conditions.

What you'll do

• • Set, assemble, and strip concrete formwork per blueprints and layout marks
• • Read and interpret drawings to establish lines, elevations and form locations
• • Build and install structural framing, bracing, shoring and blocking around concrete elements
• • Install and maintain scaffolding and access systems when required
• • Coordinate with foremen and crew to meet pour schedules, ensure form integrity and concrete tolerances
• • Enforce site safety rules, maintain tools and report defects or unsafe conditions

What we're looking for

• • Journeyman-level carpentry experience with a focus on concrete formwork
• • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and layouts
• • Hands-on experience with scaffolding, shoring, bracing and general framing carpentry
• • Working knowledge of concrete placement, finishing interfaces and form removal
• • Strong safety mindset with ability to follow and enforce site procedures
• • Willingness to travel and work per diem assignments across the region

Qualifications

• • Journeyman card or documented journeyman-level experience
• • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
• • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
• • Scaffold competency or related scaffold training preferred
• • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
• • Proficient English for safety communication and reading plans
