Carpenter - Millwork Installer

About This Role

Experienced carpenter needed in Houston, TX to perform high-level millwork and finish carpentry on commercial projects. Work includes installing woodwork, casework (AWW, PL + metal), wall paneling, ornamental metalwork, fume hoods, doors, frames, and hardware. You’ll be expected to preplan tools and materials, read and follow blueprints, and complete clean, precise installations. This role emphasizes safety and efficiency. You will follow the site safety program, report hazards or incidents, use Stop Work Authority when needed, and operate with minimal supervision. Physically demanding work — climbing ladders, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs — is routine.

What You'll Do

  • Install casework, plastic laminate, metal casework, fume hoods, wall paneling, doors, frames, and hardware on commercial projects
  • Preplan tools, materials, and installation sequence to ensure safe, efficient work and meet project schedules
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and as-built documents for accurate layout and installation
  • Follow jobsite safety program, report hazards, use Stop Work Authority, and report all incidents promptly
  • Perform finish carpentry tasks: trim, cabinetry, countertops, stair components, and specialty millwork
  • Maintain tools, protect installed work, and keep work areas clean and organized

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years experience as a finished carpenter or in architectural millwork/casework
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical details
  • Supply and maintain your own basic hand and power tools
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and follow foreman or project lead direction
  • Physically able to climb ladders/scaffolds, stoop/kneel/crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs safely
  • Willingness to follow and participate in a formal safety program and use Stop Work Authority

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3–5 years finished carpentry, cabinetmaking, or architectural millwork experience
  • OSHA 10 (preferred) — OSHA 30 a plus
  • Union membership where applicable
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to pass background and drug screen
  • Able to read technical drawings and communicate effectively in English
