Carpenter — Finish & Millwork Installer
About This Role
Experienced carpenter needed in Fort Worth, TX to perform high-level millwork in commercial settings. Work includes installation of wood and metal casework, wall paneling, doors, frames, hardware and other specialty items. You'll be expected to plan installations for speed and safety, read blueprints, and deliver high-quality finish work. This is hands-on field work. You’ll preplan tools and materials, follow the site safety program, report hazards, and complete layouts and installs with minimal supervision. Work is physically demanding — ladders, scaffolds, lifting up to 50 lbs, and precise measuring/cutting are part of the day.
What You'll Do
- • Install AWW, plastic laminate (PL) and metal casework, fume hoods, countertops, and miscellaneous specialties on commercial projects
- • Install doors, frames and hardware to specification; perform final trim, paneling and staircase/woodwork touch-ups
- • Preplan jobs: determine tools, materials and installation techniques that are fastest and safest
- • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and as-built drawings; perform site layout, measuring and cutting
- • Follow the site safety program, use Stop Work Authority when needed, report hazards and incidents promptly
- • Maintain and care for personal and company tools, assist with loading/unloading materials, and coordinate work with other trades
What We're Looking For
- • High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years’ experience as a finished carpenter or millwork installer
- • Proven experience with casework, plastic laminate, architectural millwork and ornamental metalwork
- • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and as-built drawings
- • Must supply basic personal tools and maintain them in good working order
- • Capable of working with minimal supervision and following layout/installation plans
- • Physically able to climb ladders and scaffolds, stoop/kneel/crouch, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Qualifications
- • High School diploma or GED
- • 3–5 years finished carpentry/millwork experience
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training
- • Union card where applicable
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; clean driving record preferred
- • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
