Carpenter Foreman — Night Shift
About This Role
Night-shift carpenter foreman needed in Abilene, TX to lead carpentry crews and ensure quality and safety on after-hours work. You’ll run the night trade operations, keep jobs on schedule, inspect completed work, and coordinate directly with project management during handoffs. This role is hands-on leadership: you must be comfortable supervising and supporting a crew, reading plans, laying out work, and stepping in to complete carpentry tasks when needed. Ideal candidates have foreman-level experience, strong communication skills, and a track record enforcing safety and quality on commercial and residential sites. Competitive pay with night differential and overtime available; immediate starts considered for qualified applicants.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and coordinate all night-shift carpentry activities and crew assignments
- • Perform site layout, measuring, cutting, and general framing/finish carpentry as needed
- • Inspect work for quality and adherence to plans, report defects, and ensure corrections
- • Enforce safety procedures, oversee scaffolding installation/use, and perform daily site safety checks
- • Lead, train, and support crew members; manage timecards, work progress, and material needs
- • Communicate night progress, issues, and handoffs clearly to project management and day crews
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 5 years carpentry experience with prior foreman/supervisor or lead role
- • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- • Skilled in rough and finish carpentry, framing, site layout, measuring, and cutting
- • Experience with scaffolding systems, construction methods, materials, and work inspection
- • Proven leadership and team-management skills with clear verbal and written communication
- • Commitment to enforcing safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized jobsite
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- • Proficient English for clear verbal and written communication
