About This Role

Night-shift carpenter foreman needed in Abilene, TX to lead carpentry crews and keep projects moving after hours. You will supervise night teams, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate with day crews and project management. This role is hands-on: you’ll be in the field setting layouts, inspecting work, training crew members, and communicating progress and issues to supervisors. Ideal candidate has foreman-level experience in commercial or residential construction and strong blueprint-reading and leadership skills.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and coordinate night-shift carpentry activities, assigning tasks and managing crew performance
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications through regular inspections
  • Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe jobsite, including scaffold setup and fall protection
  • Read and interpret drawings and site layouts; perform measuring, cutting, and layout checks
  • Lead and support crew members: training, mentoring, and resolving on-site issues
  • Communicate daily progress, manpower, materials needs, and issues to project management

What We're Looking For

  • Proven foreman-level experience supervising carpentry crews on night shifts (commercial or residential)
  • Strong skills in drawing reading/interpretation, general rough and finish carpentry, and framing
  • Hands-on ability with site layout, measuring and cutting, scaffolding systems, and work inspection
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and code/safety requirements
  • Clear verbal and written communication across teams and ability to document progress/issues
  • Ability to enforce safety procedures and lead by example in a fast-paced jobsite environment

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
  • Scaffolding and fall-protection training or certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Strong English verbal and written communication; bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
