About This Role

Join a hands-on construction crew in Forney, TX as a Carpenter. You’ll build and repair wood and wallboard fixtures, set up trailers and site systems, and complete both rough and finish carpentry to meet local building codes. You’ll read blueprints, measure and cut materials, erect prefabricated components, assist with concrete work, and work alongside journeymen and foremen to deliver safe, accurate site builds. This role is practical, physical, and team-focused — ideal for carpenters who take pride in quality work and steady progress.

What You'll Do

  • Set up site trailers, tool trailers/conex units, erosion control (silt fences/straw bales) and other temporary site systems
  • Read blueprints and sketches, measure materials, and lay out work to required dimensions and grades
  • Build decks, stairs, roofs and other temporary structures; hand-set forms and assemble gang forms for concrete work
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry: framing, drywall hanging and repair, doors/frames/hardware, millwork and cabinetry
  • Unload, handle, stockpile and erect prefabricated materials and assist with concrete placement and cleanup
  • Work with foremen and team members to shoot grades/elevations, inspect work, and complete site-specific tasks

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years carpentry experience working on commercial or site construction jobs
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, measure accurately, and visualize finished components from plans
  • Skilled in rough and finish carpentry, drywall hanging/repair, door/hardware and cabinet installation
  • Hands-on experience with concrete formwork, placing/pouring assistance, and prefabricated assemblies
  • Strong teamwork, clear verbal communication, and willingness to follow directions on safety and site procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years carpentry experience
  • Trade or technical school certificate/diploma preferred
  • Able to read blueprints and use common carpentry tools
  • Ability to speak and understand English for safe, effective communication
