Concrete Formwork Carpenter

About This Role

Join a hands-on concrete formwork crew in Washington, DC. You’ll work under a foreman to build, set, strip and repair wood, plywood and steel forms for footings, walls, columns, decks and slab-on-grade pours. This role focuses on practical, skilled carpentry on commercial concrete projects. Work is outdoors on active job sites with a strong emphasis on safety and ongoing training. If you have solid formwork experience, can follow construction drawings and want steady, trade-focused work with room to advance, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• • Construct, erect, strip and repair wood, plywood and steel concrete forms per construction documents
• • Install footing, wall, column, structural deck and slab-on-grade forms
• • Prep and set tilt-up and precast forms; perform building layout and layout checks
• • Measure, cut and assemble form components using hand and power tools; secure form ties and bracing
• • Work safely on-site, follow site safety plans, and participate in required training/certifications

What We're Looking For

• • High school diploma or equivalent
• • Minimum 2 years of concrete formwork/carpentry experience on commercial projects
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and perform site layout
• • Comfortable using carpentry hand and power tools, measuring equipment and form hardware
• • Able to pass background check and drug screen; physically capable of lifting, climbing and working outdoors

Qualifications

• • OSHA-10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain
• • NCCER or equivalent carpentry/formwork certification a plus
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• • English proficiency for reading plans and on-site safety communication
