Carpenter — Construction Technician

About this role

BuildingTeam Solutions is hiring a Carpenter for hands-on outdoor installation work based around Austin, with a primary base in Sunset Valley, TX. This is a full-time role on a 4x10 schedule with Fridays off, steady local work, and occasional short travel within about three hours of Austin. The position focuses on installing water reclamation tanks, framing, sheet metal, light excavation and filtration equipment. The company will train the right person over 6–10 months to run a 2–3 person crew. This role is for a dependable, experienced tradesperson (roughly 3–5 years in construction) who wants a long-term opportunity and to move into leadership.

What you'll do

• Install water reclamation tanks and set up filtration equipment on site
• Perform framing and sheet metal work as part of outdoor installations
• Carry out light excavation and trench work for installations
• Measure, cut, and fit materials; use power tools and read drawings/tape measures
• Prepare and maintain jobsite setup, loading/unloading materials, and basic equipment care
• Learn to lead and supervise a small crew (2–3 people) as training progresses

What we're looking for

• 3–5 years of hands-on construction experience
• Able to read tape measures, read basic drawings, and use power tools safely
• Some leadership or supervisory experience (small crew experience counts)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable, dependable, and able to provide strong references from past employers
• Eligible to work in the United States

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Spanish language skills preferred (not required)
• Experience with measuring/cutting, loading/unloading materials, and general carpentry/construction
