Civil Concrete Finisher

About this role

Join a civil site crew in San Antonio as a hands‑on Concrete Finisher placing, finishing, and curing concrete to project specifications. You’ll work on slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and other flatwork — using floats, trowels, edgers, and finishing machines to deliver durable, quality surfaces in a fast‑paced field environment. This role requires strong attention to grade and finish, safe tool operation, and the ability to read plans and verify elevations. Experienced finishers will mentor less experienced crewmembers, help enforce safe practices, and take pride in producing clean, long‑lasting results on every pour.

What you'll do

• • Place, spread, float, trowel and finish concrete to specified grades and slopes for slabs, sidewalks, curbs and related flatwork
• • Form, saw and tool joints; perform edge work and apply surface treatments to meet finish standards
• • Read blueprints and grade stakes, verify elevations and slopes, and adjust work to meet specifications
• • Operate and maintain finishing tools and equipment safely (floats, trowels, edgers, screeds, power trowels, brooms)
• • Mentor less experienced crew members, maintain clean work areas, and follow site safety plans and quality check procedures

What we're looking for

• • Previous concrete finishing experience on civil construction projects (flatwork, slabs, curbs)
• • Proven finishing techniques: floating, troweling, edging, jointing and surface treatments
• • Ability to read and interpret drawings, grade stakes and specifications; basic math for setting grades
• • Safe operation and basic maintenance of finishing tools and small equipment
• • Able to work outdoors in varying weather, lift heavy materials, and stand for long periods

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 or equivalent site safety training preferred
• • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to San Antonio job sites
• • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
• • Able to pass drug screen and background check
• • English required; Spanish language skills a plus
