Civil Concrete Finisher

About this role

Join a civil construction crew in San Antonio as a hands‑on Civil Concrete Finisher. You’ll be responsible for placing, finishing and curing concrete on site to meet project specs and quality standards. This is a physical, fast‑paced role that requires attention to grade, surface finish, and jobsite safety. Day‑to‑day you’ll set grades, spread and strike off concrete, apply float and trowel finishes, form and finish edges and joints, and protect cures until surfaces reach specification. Experienced finishers will mentor less experienced crew members and help maintain productivity and safe work practices in the field.

What you'll do

• • Place, spread, float and trowel concrete to specified grades and slopes; ensure smooth, durable finishes
• • Form and finish edges, install and tool joints, and apply surface treatments (broom, trowel, textured finishes)
• • Read blueprints, verify grades and slopes, and check work against project specifications
• • Operate and maintain finishing tools and equipment safely (floats, trowels, screeds, bull floats, power trowels)
• • Protect and cure finished surfaces, perform site cleanup, and enforce safe work procedures
• • Coach and mentor less experienced crewmembers to maintain quality and productivity on site

What we're looking for

• • Previous concrete finishing experience on commercial or civil construction projects
• • Strong hands‑on finishing technique: floating, troweling, broom/textured finishes, and joint work
• • Ability to read and interpret plans, set and verify grades and slopes
• • Comfortable with physically demanding work: lifting, bending, standing on feet for long periods
• • Follows safety rules, keeps work area clean, and communicates effectively with crew and foremen

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 (or site safety card) preferred
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in the San Antonio area
• • High school diploma or GED preferred
• • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• • Spanish language skills a plus
