Concrete Finisher

About this role

We’re hiring a hands-on Concrete Finisher in Charlotte, NC to support civil and infrastructure projects. You’ll work as part of a finishing crew placing, screeding, finishing, curing, and patching slabs and flatwork on job sites across the region. This role is physical and outdoor-focused with frequent travel and 40–60 hour weeks. You’ll run and maintain finishing tools and machines, help place concrete from chutes and pump hoses, perform QC patching and slab edge work, and coach junior crew members. PPE and safe work practices are required at all times.

What you'll do

• • Place and consolidate concrete using truck chutes, pump hoses, and internal vibrators.
• • Screed, bull float, and finish slabs with hand tools and trowel machines; use edgers and jointers to form clean joints and edges.
• • Perform QC patching, slab edge finishing, grade work, and apply dry-shake surface hardeners and evaporation retarders.
• • Set and secure curing covers (mats or paper) and monitor proper curing procedures.
• • Operate finishing equipment and forklifts when certified; load/unload and maintain tools and machinery.
• • Coach and train apprentices and junior finishing technicians; keep the work area and tools clean and serviceable.

What we're looking for

• • Proven concrete finishing experience on civil, infrastructure, or commercial slabs.
• • Skilled with screeds, bull floats, trowel machines, edgers, jointers, and finishing hand tools.
• • Able to place concrete (chute/pump), consolidate with vibrators, and perform QC patching and grade checks.
• • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather, frequent travel with overnight stays, and 40–60 hour work weeks.
• • Physically able to lift up to 90 lbs, stand for long periods, and wear required PPE.
• • Basic reading and communication skills to follow plans, safety rules, and crew directions.

Qualifications

• • Valid driver's license
• • Forklift/operator certification (rough-terrain preferred) or ability to obtain certification
• • First Aid/CPR and OSHA-10 certifications preferred
• • Ability to pass required drug screen and background checks
• • English proficiency to read safety docs and follow instructions
• • Able to lift up to 90 lbs and meet physical demands of finishing work
