Industrial Concrete Worker

About this role

Heavy industrial concrete crew needed in Vinton, TX for construction of a new melt shop and caster at a steel mill. This is a short-term, high‑pace project starting 09/08/2026 with early shifts and a minimum two‑month run; strong performers may move on to the next site. Work schedule is 6x10s (4:00 AM–2:30 PM), six days per week. All workers must complete site safety orientation and site‑specific training before starting. Documentation of OSHA 10 training and a cleared 10‑panel urine drug screen are required on arrival.

What you'll do

• • Set, cut, bend and tie rebar for slabs, walls, columns and tilt‑up/precast work; fabricate and install rebar cages.
• • Perform formwork, wall and slab layout, and carpentry tasks for concrete placement and finishing support.
• • Rig, hoist and place rebar cages and steel members; secure metal deck systems for concrete placement.
• • Install anchors, assist with post‑tension tendon installation and release procedures under supervision.
• • Follow site safety plans: attend site orientation, use PPE, follow traffic and lift plans, and report hazards.
• • Carry, maintain and use hand tools and basic layout instruments; assist with demolition and cleanup as directed.

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience with rebar work: cutting, bending, tying and fabricating cages; slab‑on‑grade, wall and column placement.
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and rebar schedules.
• • Experience rigging, hoisting and setting rebar cages and steel members; safe use of dikes, wire reels and layout tools.
• • Physically fit for heavy lifting, climbing and long hours on an industrial site; comfortable working early shifts and 6‑day weeks.
• • Own basic hand tools for your role (rodbusters and carpenters/tool lists vary); follow site tool requirements and care for equipment.

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10‑hour construction card required (any age).
• • Cleared 10‑panel urine drug screen (documentation required on arrival).
• • Able to complete site safety orientation and site‑specific training before starting work.
• • English or Spanish language ability accepted and helpful on site.
